"Think of it this way, Padfoot," he said kissing the curve of an ear. "There are what? Three and a half thousand pages of canon? And we turn up in maybe ten percent of it, if that. There are a few looks and touches, certainly, a few hints of intimacy, but you're right that there isn't much evidence of more implied in the text."

His hand traced the groove of Sirius's spine to give his arse a tender squeeze, and their lips met in a long moment of silent understanding.

"But that isn't the only place we exist anymore," Remus continued. "We exist in the hearts and minds of fangirls everywhere. They are the ones who will give us the story we deserve: a little romance, a little happiness. Because of their devotion, the tiny fraction of canon that was our first home is now only the smallest part of our existence. What we have is real, not because of canon, but because the fans
want it to be real."

-- Backstage, by Pica Scribit

Greetings, illustrious readers! I am Pica, an unrepentant grown-up geek, and multi-decade fandom veteran.

I became a fan of the Harry Potter series in 2001 when I went to the Philosopher's Stone movie to find out what all the hype was about. I became a fanfic writer in 2004 after seeing Prisoner of Azkaban. Before that, I thought Remus and Sirius were just good friends. I started writing Survivor's Guilt the next day, and never looked back. Even though I came to the Potterverse as an adult, the series has had a profound and lasting impact on my life, for which I am grateful. I am deeply disappointed by JKR's ongoing transphobia and racism, so I only participate in the HP fandom in non-monetized ways.

I believe stories are powerful, representation matters, and accessibility is essential. I am working on a mass edit of my stories. Once stories are edited, I will record podfic versions of them. Story notes indicate whether a story has been edited and podfic'd yet.

I apologise for the content of my unedited stories. Many include problematic tropes which I used out of ignorance. I've learned a lot over the past several years, and hope to learn much more in the future. I will do my best to implement positive changes from here on out.

Feedback is always welcome. Please let me know if problematic elements persist in my edited works, or if you find any typos, canon errors, or broken coding. For the purposes of my stories, "canon" includes only information found in the published books, not in expanded universe sources such as movies, video games, interviews, or Pottermore.

ebooks and podfics may be downloaded from my AO3 archive

Thank you, one and all! Happy reading!
